Diabetes Eye Screening

The Central Mersey Diabetes Eye Screening programme covers each of the 4 boroughs within the area of the LOC: Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington.

In 2023, the contracts of optical contractors to provide screening for Diabetic Retinopathy were terminated by the programme management. Screening is now  provided at community based NHS sites in each borough.

NB The LOC no longer has any involvement with the eye screening programme and are unable to book appointments for diabetes eye screening. For all queries regarding screening, please ring the Screening Office on 0151 495 5100
